Leaving self-imposed labels

Lately I’ve been experimenting a lot with shadows and strong contrasts – something I haven’t “allowed” myself to do for a long time. After all, I love minimalist, bright photography. I thought for a long time I had found “my style”. But what does that mean anyway?

Does it mean to pigeonhole yourself and not allow yourself to be creative outside of that box? Does it mean copying yourself over and over again without evolving? I don’t know. I don’t have an answer to that either.

I only know that it is currently a lot of fun to leave this self-created box and to explore what else there is to discover outside of it. Because maybe that’s the only way to discover your real “style”. If there should be such a thing at all.
